The Leisure Panel is an initiative of Tilburg University, NHTV University of applied sciences, and Wageningen University & Research Centre. The Leisure Panel was started in 2010 en consists op a fixed Group of people who fill in online questionnaires on a regular basis. Once a month, the panel members are invited to fill in one or more questionnaires. These questionnaires can be short or long, depending on the topic. It is also possible to invite specific panel members for an interview or focus Group (so called qualitative research).
The research of the Leisure Panel is always about topics related to leisure, like tourism, recreation, sports, culture, media, and etcetera. On some occasions, these topics are of current interest, on other occasions they are more general. The purpose of the Leisure Panel is exclusively scientific and not commercial. The aim is to contribute to the quality of education and research in the leisure sector, not only for participating institutions, but for everyone engaged in the field of leisure. Researchers from academic institutions and commercial organizations can submit a proposal to conduct research with the panel or to obtain existing data. Monitoring the quality of the panel is part of the research program.
